Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City visiting and working  in Binh Phuoc Province
On May 24th, 2022, the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Madan Mohan Sethi visited and worked at Binh Phuoc Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center. On the side of the Indian delegation was Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet, Assistant Consul General, Ms. Le Thi Tuong Vy, Assistant Consul General. On the side of Binh Phuoc province, there was Mr. Tran Quoc Duy, Director of Binh Phuoc Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center; Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoa, Deputy Director of Binh Phuoc Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center; Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Deputy Head of Economic Zone Authority; Mr. Bui Quoc Khanh, Deputy Director of The Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Director of The Department of Industry and Trade;  Ms. Giang Thi Lan Thu, President of The Women Entrepreneurs Association; Mr. Dao Tran Lanh, Chief of Staff of The Young Entrepreneurs Association; together with representatives of typical enterprises, small and medium enterprises in the province.
Mr. Tran Quoc Duy delivered the opening speech of the meeting.

Mr. Tran Quoc Duy, Director of Binh Phuoc Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, shared Binh Phuoc is a province in the Southeast, located in the Southern key economic region, with favorable geographical location, abundant resources and minerals, stable security and politics. Binh Phuoc is an important bridge between the region and Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and the Central Highland region of Vietnam with 258,939 km bordering Cambodia, 01 International Border Gate and 02 National Border Gate, 110 km from Ho Chi Minh City, 143 km from Long Thanh Airport, 166 km from The New Port of Dong Nai.

Binh Phuoc has the advantages of clean land ready for industrial development in 13 industrial parks approved by the Prime Minister of Vietnam with an area of 4,686 hectares; Hoa Lu International Border Gate Economic Zone with more than 28,364 hectares and many other industrial clusters has been approved and planned in favorable locations located on the main road connecting Binh Duong province with Ho Chi Minh City and the trans-Asian road is included in the planning, thereby opening up many opportunities to attract investment in industrial development in the province.

Vietnam and India have had strong bilateral relationship throughout history along with impressive growth in trade between the two countries over the past few years. In 2021, for the first time, bilateral trade between Vietnam and India surpassed 13 billion USD (13.2 billion USD), up 36.5% from 9.6 billion USD in 2020; In which, Vietnam's exports to India reached 6.25 billion USD (up 20% compared to 2020). As one of the countries with the highest GDP growth rate in the world with 1.4 billion people, India is a potential market for Vietnamese enterprises to research and export goods.
At the event, the participants recognized that Vietnam and India have plenty of room for comprehensive cooperation in both trade and investment, especially in the fields of digital, supporting industries, e-commerce, retail and agricultural products.

Binh Phuoc province always creates the best conditions for domestic and foreign investors. In parallel with the synchronous investment in infrastructure, provincial leaders continue to direct the renovation work to improve the investment environment, promote administrative reforms, set out the right directions, flexibly apply the Central policies in accordance with the actual situation of the locality, attracting talents, expanding links, joint ventures to train human resources, building new high-quality training establishments, while promoting the coordination of scientists to incorporate technological innovation into production and business to create favorable conditions for the development of enterprise systems, entrepreneurs and production and business units in the area to constantly improve the value of production and business, enrich the country and solve jobs for the people.”, Mr. Duy emphasized.

In addition to promoting the implementation of investment projects, Binh Phuoc province is very interested in creating the most open mechanism to promote cooperation connection for the business community in Binh Phuoc and India, especially for small and medium enterprises of the two countries because small and medium enterprises are the real driving force to bring the economies of India and Vietnam closer together.

At the meeting, leaders of Binh Phuoc Economic Zone Authority also introduced to the delegation about the planning of industrial zones and the current situation, policies to support and attract investment in industrial parks in the province. At the same time, representatives of small and medium enterprises of Binh Phuoc exchanged information and discussed with the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City on issues such as: investment opportunities in India, conditions to export Agricultural - Forestry products, especially Binh Phuoc's strong products such as cashew nuts, pepper, avocado, etc.

The Consulate General pledged to support learning about, cooperation and investment promotion between Binh Phuoc and India. Specifically, the Consulate General asked Binh Phuoc Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center to identify 5 key products as well as 5 main areas that the province is calling for investment. On that basis, the Consulate General will support in terms of information as well as business connection between the two parties to exchange online, zoom,…
to create conditions and opportunities for the two parties to explore each other's markets to connect Bind Phuoc and Indian markets. In addition, India can help to train enterprises, especially in key areas that Binh Phuoc are needed for businesses on both parties to promote trade, tourism, education, and health care,....

In addition, the Consulate General suggested that provincial enterprises attend events and find investment opportunities in India. Believing that, Binh Phuoc will be a reliable investment location for many Indian enterprises in their search for investment opportunities; Binh Phuoc will always accompany India to build a solid bridge for the business community in Binh Phuoc and India to maximize the potential, advantages of each side, contributing to the development of the two countries.
