Vietnam and India have had strong bilateral relationship throughout history along with impressive growth in trade between the two countries over the past few years. In 2021, for the first time, bilateral trade between Vietnam and India surpassed 13 billion USD (13.2 billion USD), up 36.5% from 9.6 billion USD in 2020; In which, Vietnam's exports to India reached 6.25 billion USD (up 20% compared to 2020). As one of the countries with the highest GDP growth rate in the world with 1.4 billion people, India is a potential market for Vietnamese enterprises to research and export goods.
At the event, the participants recognized that Vietnam and India have plenty of room for comprehensive cooperation in both trade and investment, especially in the fields of digital, supporting industries, e-commerce, retail and agricultural products.
